In the last chapter, Becky told Brighteyes and Alfie about her father's death. She explained that she would never be able to tell anyone else, not even her mother about the events leading up to it. Becky believes she is responsible for her father's death because she used all the milk up the previous evening. Her father, who was making their breakfast for them, then had to go out to get some more milk at the corner store because she pretended not to hear him when he asked her if she would go.
Becky believes that her father would still be alive if she had got up and gone for the milk.

1)Yes I think she is right to blame herself for her dad’s death because she is an undisciplined adolescent (or child I don't know the exact age) that won't do her chores or listen to her parent’s.
2)I think he would say that she is a bad child for getting him killed and not listening to and adult.Oh and that they need more milk because it spilled all over the ground.

1. No Becky is not right to blame herself because she did not know he would get hurt, or if she did she wouldn't have pretended to not hear him. If she knew he would get hurt i think she would of got the milk.

ReplyDeleteBecky isn’t right to blame herself because her father came out of the store at the exact time the the truck came barreling down the hill. If he had come out before or after the truck crashed, he would have lived. Just think, if Becky had gotten the milk and came out at the same time as her father did, she would have died and her father would feel guilty. I think Becky’s dad would say that it wasn’t her fault and that she shouldn’t blame herself because he just came out of the store at the wrong time. As Becky’s mother would say “ It's no use crying over spilled milk”. If I was Becky’s father, I would tell her that she is wrong that it is her fault because it isn’t and that you should go on with your life. I just came out of the store at the worst time possible.

Is Becky right to blame herself for her father's death? Explain. Yes because if she hadn't used the milk the night before her father wouldn't have had to go out to get the milk and becky was pretending to be a sleep when her father asked her to go get new milk. I think her father were get really mad if he came back alive and blame her because that's how i picture her dad. I would be extremely mad but there would be nothing you could do about it.
