ReplyDeleteM.E.D.U.S.A is a laser weapon used to destroy any city or town any size. M.E.D.U.S.A puts out a poisonous gas that destroys the atmosphere around it.
In my opinion, they have to click a button that makes it go out of its position. Then they use arrows that aims it at the enemy and then they push another button that blasts the laser at the city or town.
It came from the 60 minute war (World War 3) and they discovered it in America. Its history is they used it in the 60 minute war and that's why it was only 60 minutes because they used it to blast the other country.

I think MEDUSA disintegrates anything in it’s path. It can destroy large portions of areas.
I think you would power it by atomic energy thats why it shoots lazer beams. Then you would have to loud it with a nuke.
Londen dug up a weapon from the 90 minute. It killed everyone in the blasted radius thats why it called the 90 minute war.

The Medusa weapon shoots a “laser” that the ancients used in the 60 min War that can pretty much destroy anything in its path. This weapon helped annihilate the world during WW3 so it must be a powerful weapon that LOndon is using against the Anti Tracktion league.

Sound waves are harnessed the into a large ball that is shot. And that's why we can see a so called “lazer”.
I think it ethier came from the USA or Russia. Because these two countries have the power to make something like that.

ReplyDeleteMEDUSA is a giant weapon that shoots out a giant green beam of energy made of … Who knows?! That could destroy traction cities far more larger than MEDUSA’s wearer (currently at the time, London). There could be tons of devastation if it got into the wrong hands, which currently, IT IS!
ReplyDeleteI’m pretty sure that the book said that MEDUSA somehow drawed energy out of parallel universes or something to release a giant beam. Maybe, it has at least SOME atomic particles in it to create more “boom”, but exactly how does MEDUSA draw that energy?
MEDUSA is an “ancient” atomic weapon that a country developed for the Sixty Minute War Thousands of years ago in Mortal Engines Time. It was meant to destroy cities during the War if they meant harm, but now it is being used for London against the Shield Wall, which is the Anti-Tractionist League’s defense against Traction cities, which they hope to tear down with MEDUSA and create a new Hunting Ground for themselves.
The name MEDUSA, while it shares a name to Medusa of Greek Mythology, I don’t think it is an acronym for anything and if it was, it was never stated in the book. I think Philip Reeve made MEDUSA in all capital letters to give more emphasis that it’s not really stable. If it was an acronym for something, though, I think it would be something like
DiMensional Energy Demolisher for Universal CombuStional ObliterAtion, or something along those lines.
